TICKET PRICES ARE AS FOLLOWS:
Adults: $48.00 per passenger
Children: ages 2 to 11 (Sorry, no infants), $38.00 per passenger
Lunches are available for an additional $15.00 per ticket (See menu options) Lunches will be provided by Front Street Deli and the sandwiches are delicious!
** Please consider the length of this excursion and the summer heat effects on small children and the elderly. No pets are allowed, with the exception of friendly, well behaved documented service dogs (prior notice must be given and a copy of the documentation given to the Captain). All service dogs must be leashed during the entire excursion.
Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?
The motor vessel "Sweet Tea" has a limited capacity policy of 40 passengers. You must purchase your tickets in advance , this allows us time to prepare all of your food and beverage needs. Cruises usually sell out quickly, check our web site calendar for availability. Click on the calendar date and it will show you the number of seats available. Bring your own picnic lunch or purchase one of our menu options. You do not need to print your tickets, we will be notified of your purchase and a e-mail confirmation will be sent to you.
Why check in early?
We require you to check in one half-hour before departure. This allows you time to park, use the public facilities, and get your things settled on board before hearing our safety speech prior to departure. Please be respectful of other passengers and do not arrive late. If you arrive by the scheduled departure, your tickets will be forfeited. No refunds will be issued. If you are unsure of your drive time, to accommodate for traffic, please call and we will be happy to help. There are directions and approximate travel times listed on this webpage.
What happens if it rains?
Rain on the coast can come and go rather quickly. Your Captain and crew are in contact with shore and we monitor the weather radar constantly. In the event we are required to cancel due to weather we will contact you (as soon as possible) so you may join us on another date (if we have seats available), or a full refund will be issued.
What is the cancellation policy?
We request that cancellations be made at least 48 hours in advance (72 hours for groups of six or more). No refunds will be issued if you do not call to cancel or you do not show up on time. No Facebook messages, phone messages, emails, or text messages will do, you must talk with an actual human being to cancel. All trips require a minimum number of passengers, if the minimum is not reached we will call to reschedule or refund.
Where should we park?
We are located at the end of Broad Street in Georgetown, most of our passengers will park on Broad on the way down to the water front. There are public lots on the two streets that parallel Broad (Orange St. and Screven St.), all parking in the city is free, just remember not to park on Front Street, it is 2 hour parking only and you may get a ticket. Parking is usually not an issue just show up on time to allow yourself a stress free experience.
Are we guaranteed to see dolphin?
We see dolphin in season on about 90% of the trips to the island, either on the way to or on the way back from the island and a lot of times you will see them from the beach. The dolphin are wild animals in their natural habitat so we must let them do what they do. We will do our best to spot them and point them out, providing a great photo opportunity.
Is gratuity included in the ticket price?
Gratuity is not included and we thank you in advance for remembering to bring some cash to tip your Captain and Crew, they work very hard to ensure your trip is safe and enjoyable.
How long are we on the island?
We are on the Island between 2 and 2 1/2 hours depending on wind and current to reach the Island. You can bring home sea shells and any drift wood you find along the shore.
Are we allowed to swim?
You may wade and dunk in the shore area close to the waters edge. This is a barrier island not Myrtle Beach and sharks and other critters live here undisturbed.
Are there life jackets, restrooms, shade?
Yes, Yes and Yes. We are coast Guard approved, your comfort and safety is our job. The environment to and on the island are subject to change and we ask that a reasonable amount of understanding my be required due to mother nature, but not to worry a good time will be had by all.
What should I bring and wear?
You may enjoy your picnic on board or bring a beach towel/blanket and have lunch on the Island. Sun screen, a hat, a beach towel and any other odds and ends that you require, just do not forget the camera. Chips, light snacks and beverages will be available at our snack bar on board. Most people wear shorts and light shirts, you might want to wear a swimsuit under your clothing. Shoes that you do not mind getting wet are a good idea as most of the good shells require you to wade about knee deep. Seasonal bug defense can be required but we will carry some on board. If you are sun sensitive or bug sensitive you should plan on bringing light pants and light long sleeve cover, we do not want you getting sun burned. Remember you are going out for the day for sun and fun so be careful. And of course if you are not sure, please call to ask.
Do we go into the ocean, will I get sea sick?
No and No. We are never in the open ocean. We land on the inland side of the island and walk a few feet around the corner to the ocean side so on one should have a problem with motion sickness. Keep in mind if you are not prone to motion sickness, medications and devices can cause it. If you must take something remember most medications require plenty of time to become effective.
Do I deserve this wonderful experience?
Yes, of course you do. The island picnic cruise is just what you need to complete your vacation to the coast, or if you're local I'll bet you have not been here yet!
